What to pack when you're going to Michigan in the dead of winter for your baby shower? Well, first and foremost, a fun party dress to show off the bump. Secondarily, warmest sweaters, snow boots, maternity jeans and comfortable clothing for the airport - god forbid I get a middle seat on the plane at 7 months pregnant, need to make it to the bathroom and be sitting with restrictive clothing. I flew out of Baltimore late Friday night, only to return Sunday night (aka Super Bowl night). All in all, everything went off without a hitch despite the snow massive snow fall that started Saturday afternoon and did not stop even after I left. There was about 4 inches of snow when I left and they were getting even more this weekend! Baby shower? More like Baby Snow Storm. My mom and sister through me a Jungle themed baby shower that included a fruity pebbles vegan cake from For the Love of Sugar along with some delicious italian food at Spotias Restaurante in Farmington Hills Michigan. Take aways were tiger and zebra tails - chocolate covered pretzel sticks - from the same maker that did our wedding treats! Decore included baloons galore and we finally got to make use of all those Beanie Babies I collected as a kiddo! I'm so grateful for the fun and beautiful baby shower my mom and sister put together! This baby boy is going to be one happy little fella. They've already even picked out his nickname, Moonch! Many many thanks to my Bests for helping me with all the questions and concerns I have regarding motherhood, for making me feel round and fabulous, and most of all for the wonderful friendships. Pete and I couldn't be more grateful for all of the support and gifts we've received. It really does take a village to raise a child! He's already got so many blankets, clothes (including baby aviators), and toys. Not all of the goodies were for baby H! My mom gave me a beautiful necklace to commemorate this new chapter in my life called Motherhood. I've been wearing it every day since the shower - helps me feel pretty on days/nights I've gotten little sleep.
Other non-documented weekend highlights included wedding invite planning for Ilse and Jon, an impromptu snow ball fight post Sunday brunch in the front yard, cuddles and play time with Nikki, and several competitive rounds of Rumi Kube with the family. Sadly, it was all over too quickly - but I'll see them all again come April when the little guy makes his debut! Hope this guy is ready to meet all of his aunties and of course, the grandparents! Great article too. Lots of fun to read and see segments of your life that otherwise I would have missed.

So glad you enjoy reading our posts! We love sharing our adventures with you guys. Blogs are the 21st century version of mailing out bulletins to friends and family - but I see how worth it either one of those methods are for those that are close to us and like to see what we're up to. Plus it's fun :) Love seeing you're guys' comments on here too.
