Marjorie here, posting some things on my mind. I'm guilty that, as of late, I've been daydreaming of the days I'll be walking around pushing a stroller trying to be a fashionable mom. Clothes will have to be comfortable - easy to put on, easy to breast feed with, easy to walk in, and most importantly, they'll have to be clothes I'm okay with getting dirty as I've heard babies do a lot of spitting up. Therefore, I'm not willing to spend lots of $$$ on these new items. Above I just linked a couple items I'd been eyeing (click on the images) and their Target counter parts! I'll be honest, never would I shed $1,325 for a shirt or $450 for worn in looking sneakers, but I've seen the pricey items on the instagram lately and I couldn't help but covet them. So, I'm glad to have found similar items at a much more reasonable price. It's been a while since I'd visited a Target - the city one gives me anxiety as it's always crowded and slightly more disorganized than the suburban version. But now that Target has me hooked on Kristen Ess hair products, I found myself online roaming through their site to see what else is new and came across these fashion swaps! How serendipitous! Don't you just love it when that happens? Hopefully, we'll find some similar men's fashion and baby gear swaps to share with you soon.
March 3rd was the day to celebrate Baby Halbrook and Baby's Daddy! "Nacho Average Baby Shower" was thrown by soon-to-be Auntie Julia, Auntie CC, soon-to-be Grandma Michelle at the Halbrook home. With margaritas a plenty, this was indeed a very different baby shower!
Mexican themed decore engulfed the Halbrook home while Latin American tunes filled the rooms. Guests feasted on shrimp tacos, tamale pies, chips with homemade guac, homemade salsa, cupcakes, brownies and cookies. Yes, there were beer and as we mentioned earlier margaritas, made with jalapeno infused tequila! The soon to be dad was the center of attention as he opened the thoughtful gifts friends and family gave us for our baby boy. Pete and his buddies got to experience what was once a type event given only for new mamas, and it was a riot! Baby Daddies deserve a little celebration too!
After all, the man that helps his preggy wife feel good about herself, makes sure she's comfortable, fixes her back pains, deals with the mood swings like a champ, and cooks healthy meals to make sure she and baby get all the nutrients they need. Pete, you're going to be a great dad!
We'd like to thank all our friends and family for showering us with so many helpful and fun gifts for our little guy. He's going to be one very stylish little man, just like his dad. We're overwhelmed with all the love and excitement everyone is showing - it feels really good to have all this support!
This lucky boy has many Tios (and Tias) lined up to teach him how to dress sharply, how to play sports, make him laugh with silly jokes, and even how to speak/read Spanish! What a lucky lil' dude! Tio Luis even got big sister, Jolene, a gift so she wouldn't get jealous that all the toys weren't for her and she got a lot of attention at the party as they know she's got a big role coming up too!
The night ended with the gang dancing up a storm in the family room into the wee hours, not unlike any other Halbrook party. This kiddo will have some big dancing shoes to live up to!
Thank you, thank you all, for your love.
Welcome to Details & Highlights! My name is Marjorie and this is my little online journal. It began as our wedding website, which I then revamped and kept as a way to record our adventures and memories.
