At last, we finally got our holiday cards out (just barely in time)! Later today, our New Years/Gender reveal go into production! And since we're obviously feeling the holiday joy of spreading good tidings we have to add that just this past friday, our sister Ilse got engaged up in Northern Michigan! To top it off, in a few days, we'll be off to Mexico to celebrate Christmas to be with, the soon-to-be, grandpa Devereux! Jolene will be spending her Christmas with her Halbrook grandpawrents in Maryland where she loves running up and down the stairs, gets plenty of attention and has the run of the yard. So all is indeed feeling merry and bright. Here's to wishing you a happy holiday season! Cheers!
Today we celebrate our first adopt-aversary with Jolene Bean!
We couldn't be happier to share with you our loving journey as pup parents to her. There's been a learning curve on both sides of the table - and that's just how it goes! We wouldn't trade her for the world. She's definitely our child and has some characteristic similarities to both Pete and myself. She likes being around friends and family but large crowds give her a little anxiety like her mom. She's one of the fastest runners S Street dog park (a natural athlete like her dad) but doesn't do well in the summer's high temps - heat and humidity are not Halbrook favorite. And lastly, like her parents, she's very routine with her ways - meals, outtings, bedtime, etc.
We may not have a tree up at home, and we may be late on our holiday card printing, but we made it to a meet & greet with Santa Paws this past weekend - a great event put on by Compass Realtors Mandy & David along with the Humane Rescue Alliance, the organization through which we found our babe, Jolene! What was her Christmas wish to Santa, you ask? It's a secret, but most likely for all the nuggets in shelters to find their forever homes soon. We sure are grateful for the joy she brings!
Welcome to Details & Highlights! My name is Marjorie and this is my little online journal. It began as our wedding website, which I then revamped and kept as a way to record our adventures and memories.
