Last week, we headed down to Williamsburg VA so Jack could meet his Nana and to celebrate his first Forth of July! Let's just say they hit it off with a boom and bang just like fireworks. Jack and Nana had so many "chats" and laughs, it's like they've been life long friends! He couldn't have been happier. We rolled in on Tuesday with suitcases, stroller, golf clubs, Jolene's toys, snacks, and a sweaty little Jack strapped in his car seat after a fairly easy drive down from DC. Although he woke up screaming bloody murder (because who likes to be hot and sticky?), he quickly was all smiles once he was in Nana's arms - they're like two peas in a pod! She had a crib ready with teddy bear, our favorite diapers and wipes (Pampers) sized 2, because little man is growing quick! We celebrated the 4th by NOT staying up for the fireworks because we friggin' tired all the time. There have been many "firsts" for Jack this month already; along with celebrating our nation's independence and meeting his Nan, he's got the hang of "tummy time" and is slowly moved onto rolling over, he's also been into watching FIFA 2018 and went for his first swim! Jack was not a huge fan of the pool, despite the luke warm water. Eventually, he learned to tolerate it and took a few dips in with Papa Pete. Jolene, who is also slightly timid when it comes to pools, seemed to want to join in or perhaps she was just worried for her crying baby bro. She did eventually get the inflated ball and proceeded to destroy it within a few seconds. Note to self: keep pool floats away from Jojo... We hope you all enjoyed the holiday and summer time as much as we have! We'd also like to thank our host in Williamsburg, Nana, as well as Jack and Jolene's grandparents, Michelle and Brice, for the helping us out this past week :)
