Recently, we finally got to celebrate my sister and brother-in-law's March nuptials this past August! They were officially married in the early spring back in Michigan when we couldn't travel as Jack was due a few short weeks at the time, so they hosted a grand party this summer to celebrate with extended family and friends - it was truly an event where 'la vie' was 'en rose'!
But it wasn't just any cocktail party, in fact, festivities began the night before with a taco party on the rooftop of the Park Shelton; this was a casual affair in which all out-of-towners got together to meet, eat, drink and get a grand view of the city Ilse and Jon call home catered by their fave taco chef!
The next day, family and friends got to explore the city visiting places such as the Detroit Institue of Arts and The Henry Ford Museum. On the way to The Cocktail Party, guest got a glimpse of the new Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, The Fox Theater, and a few other landmarks of the city. Everyone was asked to wear pink, the bride's favorite color, in some manner - we saw everything from a pink hawaian shirt, pink tennis shoes to pink suits! Even little Jack had his fancy Vineyard Vines pink shorts with a summer appropriate Guayavera shirt.
As for main event, we begin with the details - held at The Royce with Bon Bon Bons for guests, flamingos, rose scented candles by Detroit Rose, pink floral arrangements by Northville's Adorn, pink cocktails and delicious Hors d'oeuvres by Marrow!
Then of course, we highlight Jack at his first ever, social event, with a smooch planted by his auntie!
And finally, the the guests who made the event so joyous and lovely - we hope to see you all again!
*Must be noted, photo credit of my sister Ilse and I goes to the elusive Mother of the Bride!
Many thanks to our wonderful parents for hosting this beautiful event (curated of course by Jon and Ilse). We had a blast and are grateful to have been a part of it. Cheers! Dilly dilly!
Welcome to Details & Highlights! My name is Marjorie and this is my little online journal. It began as our wedding website, which I then revamped and kept as a way to record our adventures and memories.
