Wellness - continuing to improve our health habits from keeping up with running and gym attendance to being more conscious about what we eat, buy at the store, cook. This mean signing up for a few more races, continuing our gym routine even while the pregnant belly grows and exercising from home while baby naps - making every free moment count! Reading for pleasure for at least 30 minutes every other day is part of wellness - and no this does not include reading social media posts but rather newspapers or books. Not just take the free time we have to sit and watch TV*.
*TV watching is not a bad resting activity, we just need to vary our leisure activities more for self improvement.
Recipes - we'll be sharing with you actual recipes of foods we make! Hopefully you'll try them along with us and let us know what you think. Some may be more involved than others, but taking the time to really make a if not just a whole meal but a food item from scratch can be both a fun activity and better for your overall health. Plus, there is always a bit of discovery involved, it's creative, it's a science experiment, it's almost always instant gratification because of the work you put in it! Join us!
Decor - we did a blog post on de-cluttering a few months back and we truly believe in the mantra of living with what you need while not being completely stark and void of character. I'm going to call it "Our Curated Home". Living in a 1 bedroom apartment in the city with a baby and a pup-child gives us a challenge that we're up to facing. De-cluttering also helps maintain a cleaner living environment. The less superfluous items you have, the more likely you are to notice dust, mold, smears, dirt, etc. - all the more reasons to live more simplistically. Along with this mantra, we'll also like sharing with you items we truly find useful and beautiful as well as where we got them from in the case you are interested in those items.
Fashion & Personal Care Products - Yes, this applies to products for fellas as well; "handsome" doesn't just happen because you roll out of bed! I'm the one that most often tries new products but Pete has his own routine that works quite well. We'll share with you "tried and true" products that help keep our skin clear, healthy, and fresh, products that keep our hair perfectly coiffed and clothes that keep us active and feeling good!
Obviously we both want to continue growing in our respective fields - Pete in Finance, Marjorie in Architecture. Now that we know we'll be entering parenthood, things will be a little different! It's hard to know what's going to be right for us - daycare, nanny, part-time for mom, continuing full-time but possibly working from home a few days? We're lucky to live in a time when we have these options. We'll take it one day at at time for now and gauge what'll work best when the time comes. Then there's the work we do with LittleMIGHTYPress. Both of us would like that business to expand and know that the only way to do so is to invest more time in that craft too. Any ideas you can share that you'd like to see from our printing press, please let us know! We currently print personal stationary and custom holiday cards and invitations but are open to expanding what we can make.
We've said it before (at least to ourselves), our kiddo will have a passport as a baby. In the past, we've shared with you information about the cities we've visited - Mexico City, Merida, Tulum, Charleston, Detroit, Williamsburg, Hermosillo, and San Carlos - including restaurants and must see places in them. We're hoping to take "Baby H" with us to a few places while he/she is still small enough to share an airplane seat with one of us - hopefully being pleasantly sleepy during those rides. There are so many places in the world we'd like to visit. This year we hope to make it out to the West Coast or even Canada!
Hi there! Our names are Marjorie & Peter. Welcome to our little corner of the web, Details & Highlights - formerly our wedding website! We revamped and kept it going for the fun of it.
